You are not seeing a drastic rise in Linux usage you are seeing a large decrease in the use of desktop computers. Linux is increasing because the only ones left using desktops are Linux users.

You are not seeing a drastic rise in Linux usage you are seeing a large decrease in the use of desktop computers.
