  • My current Amazfit smartwatch. The only good thing about it is the long battery life.

It’s a piece of crap otherwise. Requires the data harvesting app to always be running in the background or it loses connection to my phone. It’s slow, has ugly watch faces and the custom ones are awkward to install. I can’t get it to work with Gadgetbridge. The always on display is so dim that it’s useless. Pinging my phone doesn’t work.

I don’t know why I let the Internet convince me that spending £120 on this thing was a good idea. I’m going Casio or something next time around.

  • They’re churned out year on year with tens or possibly hundreds of hours worth of completely shallow, boring, meaningless busywork gameplay. Forgettable characters, bad voice acting, badly written stories, etc. They’re quantity over quality games these days. Everything feels so generic and formulaic.

For me, killing off Desmond in AC3 was the beginning of the series’ narrative decline. We got one more great game in Black Flag, but after that, it began to go downhill rapidly.

They’re just not fun anymore, and I especially hate the RPG elements they shoehorned into Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

That’s just my opinion on the series, feel free to disagree.

  • Instagram is always the one that springs to mind for me. It was amazing in the early days before Facebook bought it and turned it into the monstrosity it is now. I was an early user of it. It was quirky, it was fun, the community was much smaller and people didn’t care about how many likes they got. It was actual photography and was more personal. Not the ad-infested self-promoting shallow bullshit it is now.

Old Instagram > New Instagram is the absolute peak of enshittification for me. It’s genuinely awful now.
