Does it matter? Endlessly pontificating about the true nature of reality serves no purpose. If I’m driving and I’m about to hit a tree, reality doesn’t give a single fuck if I consider “well maybe the tree isn’t really there. How can I truly know?”

Like, I was talking with a guy and he was saying shit about how can we truly know that what I say is the color green is the same as what you see? It just feels mastubatory. It’s what words are for. If that guy asks me to go to the store and buy forest green paint from a certain brand and I come back with forest green paint from that brand he’s not going to worry about whether or not we see the exact same shade.

Zelda BotW and TotK are not fun. The stamina system is pointless and the weapon durability is frustrating. On top of that, the world’s are just sooo empty. There’s really nothing in them. A pass key is the private key in a private/public key pair. The private key is stored in the TPM on your device. The website contains the public key. When you use your “one password” you’re in effect giving your device permission to access the key storage in your TPM to fetch the private key to present it to the site.

What this means in practice is that if a website has a data breach they won’t have your hashed password, only your public key which… is public. It doesn’t and can’t do anything on its own. It needs the private key, which again only you have and the website doesn’t store, to do anything at all.

If you want to read more about it look into cryptographic key pairs. Pretty neat how they work.

Away from the edutainment and tech based stuff, I like Decino. Just a guy that really likes playing old school Doom. He doesn’t do the whole exaggerated reactions or yelling or anything like that and I don’t think I’ve ever heard him plug any kind of sponsor or product. Not having jurisdiction has famously never stopped China. Just ask Tibet. Or any country that wants to sail international waters in the south China sea. Or Hong Kong. Or Taiwan.

Lastly, You are correct about China not sharing data with FVEY countries but don’t think for a second that they are not sharing that info with Russia, Iran, or any other countries that actively seek to harm.

If a country is going to in some way use my data against me, I’d at least like to know the language and what my rights in that country are.

You jest but honestly if I’m going to be spied on and my data harvested either way I’d prefer if it was my home country. At least Theoretically something could be done about it like petition my elected officials or sue. Can’t really do that with a foreign country.

There is no way I could handle Subnautica in VR. I was scared enough playing normally.
