For the love of god and all that is holy just use mint cinnamon it’s the easies most stable with little learning curve ever. High performance great for work gaming browsing whatever lol. If you can use windows 7/10 you can use mint cinnamon
Agreed with Linux gaming AMD all the way. For laptops if you don’t wanna go dedicated GPU they make some wonderful budget friendly performance APUs (CPU plus GPU like Intel integrated graphics but more capable for light gaming :) IMO of course
Old think pads can be had for dirt cheap on eBay, you’ve essentially got a little server you can hide anywhere, you don’t have the keep the lid open (disable sleep on lid close, you can hide it wherever you want now) , ANDmost importantly it has it’s own little integrated UPS :)
Lmao some malicious ass advise here
I had no idea about proton beta and bleeding edge. Amazing recommendation thank you
In steam I am typically using proton experimental or hotfix. If those fail I use whatever proton db users recommend
Thanks. There have been a couple that I look up on Proton DB and they recommend GE over normal and I’ve been too afraid or lazy to implement it
Conservative
a political party
its not political
Ok
I need to ask a dumb question. I’ve only been using the steam provided proton versions. Should I use the GE ones and if so how? Thanks
Jfc not everything has to be political. Its not healthy for your mental either
Highly rexommed Mint Cinammon or Pop!_os
Literally whatever is in your price range. If you can swing an i7, something relatively new like gen 6 or higher. If not i5 gen 6 or higher. Recommend at least 16 GB ram, 32 preferable. Make sure it comes with a working battery and charger. Anything else is your preference, like does it have a VGA port? Or HDMI? Or a disk drive. Or flash card port. A GPU is a huge plus for gaming if desired. Model doesn’t matter as much as specs do.
I cannot strongly recommend enough pop_os. For reference, it was my last distro of choice, but its been my all time favorite out of 10+ I’ve tried in 2 years
Use Invidious while it still exists as a project I’m a fan of the yewtu.be instance. Pretty reliable. The Piped project is good as well. Don’t even use the YouTube domain at all, hate giving them analytics and site usage info nevermind ads

I love piped as a concept but it rarely ever works for me too
Agreed, especially for $8 no less. And square enix has enough money.
Conversely, it’s worth buying to support sales to encourage SE to make more ports if this is your thing.
