Yeah, it’s been a long time since I’ve looked at and kind of RAID/Storage/data preservation stuff… like 256GB spinning platters were the “hot new thing” last time I did.
I’m starting from scratch…in more ways than one lol

Very cool, this is actually the sort of thing I was interested in. I’m looking at building a fairly heavy NAS box before long and I’d love to not have to deal with the expense of a full raid setup.
For stuff like shows/movies, how do they perform after recovery?
Yeah, that’s generally my consensus as well. Just curious if someone had a better way that maybe I didn’t know about.
I’ve never been a big fan of RAID for this reason… but I’ve also never had enough mission critical data that I couldn’t just store hard copy backups.
That being said… let me ask you this:
Is there a better way than RAID for data preservation/redundancy?
It is possible for people to like stuff and it still be an empty, soulless cash grabs. We all have our guilty pleasures, and I’m not here to shit on anyone for liking it. I’m here to shit on greedy, corporate assholes who think they can just roll out a bullshit product and are entitled to our money.
I’m glad you were able to re-establish the nostalgia and love you had for the original through the remake. For many though, it wasn’t there. The empty maps, the story that just kind of rounded up to a big nothing burger… I appreciate the attempt I suppose, but this wasn’t it, and I fear they will repeat the same minimal effort cash grab on this one as well.
Yup, they left the number 7 there alright.
I’m truly happy for you, to each their own… but the soulless, empty cash grabs that they turned them into, when all they had to do was port the original to modern graphics and maybe change the combat system (up for debate, not the issue here) is painfully obvious to any who look.
They’re gonna ruin it like the did 7…aren’t they?
If irritation is meditative… I’m the mother fucking Budah…
I just finished running Sleeping Dogs, and I’m trying to find something new (to me, not necessarily “new release”). If I don’t find anything that catches my eye, I’ll probably try Middle Earth: Shadow of War again.
This is why I can’t replay it… the first time I played it I did everything I possibly could; all the little icons, side quests, traipsed all over each region a dozen times or more… it took hundreds of hours.
I boot it up again, manage to choke down the first “tutorial” area and get to the next are and shut it off… it’s no good, I can’t do it.
In the same regards as “With sufficient thrust, pigs can fly”?
I was in the same boat, but I recently discovered PPSSPP, a psp emulator that plays FFTWotL flawlessly.
