No, no, no…Death is…not. Death isn’t. You take my meaning. Death is the ultimate negative. Not being. You can’t not-be on a boat.
(Apropos user name!)
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
I’m an extrovert. That’s not the problem. This is social bullying. Please don’t frame this as “extrovert” behavior. This is reprehensible social interaction. As an extrovert I would NEVER talk about personal experiences at work. I would NEVER ask anyone to participate in my conversations unless they clearly wanted to. Stop conflating extroversion with bullying.
Yeah, the time change always messes me up more than I think it should. I wish we would just stop it altogether.
Not anymore. Used to have both and deleted them as data mining and mishandling became more prevalent as the user experience declined. Now I’m only on Lemmy and barely on LinkedIn.
Disgusting.
I have a Saudi client who was renting a property in London, I think it was £100,000 a week. They booked it out for three months. They brought 60 of their staff from Saudi Arabia all the way over to the property. It was a family of three, and they only went for three days.
The “We Were Here” series.
The recent Apple TV interface update is TERRIBLE too. They’re taking up more space with less content so I can’t see more than two or three saved videos in my playlist at a time. And it’s a pain in the ass to even get to a playlist now. Really terrible, but I love some of the creators, so I don’t know what else to do.
That’s so odd that it’s a “one way” mess up!
Even though I put the actual address of my home in, it sends me to another address on a different street. There are a lot of one-way streets involved, so it’s not a simple re-route when people end up there. I’ve submitted countless correction requests for years, but of course nothing changes.
Not having kids.
This has quotes from the OG Stoics that are then interpreted for modern life with a paragraph or two. I don’t fully subscribe to every interpretation, but at least it keeps me mindful in my own way.
A second thing I do when I get easily annoyed is to stop and ask myself if I’m tired, hungry, or burned / stressed out about something else. If so, I try to find one small thing in my control I can do to improve my situation. Usually by doing one thing I’m “in control” of it helps me not get so frustrated with the things beyond my control. Even if it’s just realizing that if I clean up a mess an hour later, it’s not the end of the world.
I guess the shortest answer to your question is by keeping a much bigger perspective on life.

Learning, studying, and embracing Stoicism has really helped me. I find The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday helps keep it top of mind for me. It’s a bit of a pop philosophy book, but it works for me.
Gnocchi with cream sauce, one of my favorites.
When I make it by putting an apple in my juicer it’s pretty clear. Maybe translucent is a better word? I don’t do any special processing.
I’ve had mine for about 35 years and done minimal maintenance. I’m about to send it to Victronox for a “spa visit” because the red casing got cracked. They will do a full cleaning and overhaul (and repair) on it for a very reasonable price. They really do stand behind their work.
Apple juice is not cider though. Apple juice is clear and flat. Cider (alcoholic) is clear and bubbly. Cider (nonalcoholic) is brown and served hot or cold and spiced or unspiced.
Any of these can be made with other fruit, but apple is the most common.
Last I heard water had flooded the first floor entirely. Their power went out about six hours ago. They’re in their 80s and stubborn as hell. Hopefully I’ll get an update from them tomorrow. Parents. sigh
