That’s akin to our rates, im about 13c/kwh delivered. I use about 1.2 to 1.5 mwh per month (with natural gas furnace and wood stove), so 2.50$/kwh would make me shut my house off at the breaker and call it camping.

Good point, for aome reason i was thinking more off-grid than load balancing economics. The battery would probably help lower power by filling when power is cheap and supplying when the rates spike throughout the day
At 50 bucks a day it would pay for itself pretty quickly. Not sure what prices are by you but here you can get a brand new stove with auto-temp and a catalytic converter and everything installed for 10k to 12k, or get a decent used stove and have someone install it for 5k ±
Solar is quite poor in Northern winters. Wind + solar + heat would be a better bet, but the battery required to heat your house for more than a day with low winds would be prohibitively expensive unless you added geothermal to the mix like a geothermal heatpump which is also very expensive. Betweem the gear, battery, geothermal, all installed your probably in the 80k$ range or more. A wood stove would be the best bet
You discreetly carpet bomb the hallway between classes like a gentleman. If the smell catches up, then look around non chalantly to pretend your looking to see who farted.
So is my wife
I think it means warmer than the thumbnail photo it shows at the top. It could mean temperature, it could even be trying to understand our sense of coziness, who knows what the ai is fishing for at any given moment
I use then for occasional graphic design projects. The contrast and color accuracy takes MS paint to a whole different level.
All day. Above 24" they all get pretty gaming focused, and i will say the fast response time and framerates are incredible if you game. These tv sized ones are a bit rediculous though
There are two main sharpening angles. 20 degrees is typical american knife. Some overseas chef knived get into 15 degree edges. Lower the degree, the sharper the edge, but the quicker itll dull against bone or stone or use overall. Pay attention to the angle when you buy a sharpener. You can get basic pull through sharpener for cheap, good for starter as the sharpener is set at the angle, just make sure the sharpener angle matches the knife angle, and if it comes with course/fine or whatever, only ever use the fine. The course sharpeners are for when you ding or dent the blade edge and they remove a lot of metal.
If you get into knives and want more, then i would move to a proper sharpening stone with a wedge or jig to hold the angle for you. Thisll let you get a feel for what angle to hold the knife at. After a while you can freehand without the wedge or jig.
Dont go too high dollar on your first knife, an 800$ japanese knife is incredible but the difference is not all that apparent to you from a 40$ knife and its better to fuck up a cheaper one learning to use and sharpen it, hence i recommend victorinox as the starter knife (15 degree on most of those). Everyones hands are different so what works for one person doesn’t fit everyone. Typically a chefs knife will do what most people want, 8" to 10" to start out, pick your favorite knife out of your cheapo kohls knife block and note its shape and length and go from there, get a single decent knife dont get a high dollar block of them as you wont use most of those. Dont overthink it or worry about it
Vinctorinox is generally accepted as the best “starter” brand, and is the end game for a lot of people
Hundred percent. No pillow case required
OMG this is so wrong you raise your kids the same way all of humanity has for the entirety of history. how could you
What is this poop knife everyone is referring to
Interesting. Our family does the exact opposite of this
The ‘leg pillow’. aka the shittiest pillow in the house to be dedicated as a between the knees pillow
How about a folded piece of bread with stuff in the middle. Is that a sandwich?
How about a sub.
How about a taco… is a taco a sandwich?
I was gonna say with the prevelance of air conditioning. In warmer places that have ample water supply but little AC, i would expect more showers as people sweat throughout the day and don’t want to be stinky.
I shower once a day in the morning, but i almost never sweat because im almost always in the AC.
It’s never too late to take up hunting. You’ll need an Elmer Fudd hat and a heart of vengeance.
In all honesty though, what was the situation that caused them to jump you. Were you walking a trail or something? Coons are typically pretty skittish(or so I thought) unless they feel cornered or they are sick or starving. I know someone who had a coon drown their farm dog in their pond, but other than that they (and most everything besides moose and brown bears I thought) are generally very wary of humans.
