Iam using mint, because it seemed like a good “beginner” distro
I jumped ship a month ago. Never really used Linux outside of some small school projects.
And my god have I had lots of issues with stuff that didn’t work or it was missing some packages that I had no idea how to get.
I have a colleague that have used Linux for +10-20 years. So having somebody to ask for help is very valuable!
But all the games I normally play is working so I don’t regret jumping ship.
I haven’t played RCT so not sure how I compares.
But Factorio is first of, a sandbox game. You can build however you want in your own tempo. Not sure what you mean by finicky?
But I don’t think it’s tedious micromanagement at all. it feels super good when you build something new and it works. And there is so many technologies and it’s jus fun exploring how everything works together and coming up with new designs!
There is also enemies, but can be turned off if you just want to focus on building a Factory. I mostly play with them, building up defences and killboxes and making automated train supply that comes with ammo, wall, etc.
It has a demo you can try out. It’s scenarios so you try out different base mechanics in the game. But the actual game is a sandbox game.
Honestly, I think it’s the best solution to also ban the owner.
Oh damn, I remember playing this game sooo many years ago! Unlocking all the different space ships was so fun
Turn-by-turn walking, cycling, and car navigation with voice guidance and Android Auto
On their “about page”
I bought Factorio for 20$, and my friend bought it for 25$, And now it costs 35$.
So there have been different prices over the years
Iam pretty sure I have already seen a mod do that. It upped the limit to 8 https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/327
I used to play it alot, especially with friends. But often we could not complete a whole game before it “lidt connection” and kicked everyone. Was kinda annoying.
But currently, Iam waiting for Tempest rising and stormgate, and hoping one of them lives up to zero hour!
Was taking 2 gap years in education. Where I worked a year, and took firefighters education for 9 month, where I met my now wife, after that traveled for 2 month, before I continued my education with computer science.
I also don’t have to have a dedicated space in my inventory anymore for water pumps. Now I can just pipette to get it haha
I got lured for my bandos armor back in the day, I stopped playing for a couple of years after that one
Thanks! OLED might actually be a viable option for me, if this new tech works out
Yeah I don’t think the sandbox version works in the demo. But sandbox isn’t Minecraft creative, more like survival Minecraft. Also I think I misremembered, it might be called Freeplay and not sandbox, my bad.
But yeah, there is easily +100 hours, in the vanilla game. Not sure if mods works on the steam deck, but mods adds 1000 hours of ekstra gameplay! One of my favorite memories, is playing a death world with a friend. Its normal Freeplay, with biters turned up , so they’re more aggressive. That’s something you should try when you get comfortable with the base game, and if you like playing with biters!
OH, ITS NOT LEVEL BASED! only the demo is, where it teaches you the different aspects of the game. Normally you play “sandbox” mode. And there you can build the biggest factory you want with no restrictions at all.
Everything makes sense now, what you said before. If you thought it was level based
Ah didn’t know you played on the steam deck. Don’t have one myself so wouldn’t know. But all in all, Factorio is worth it at this price point. I already played 1000 hours, and there is many more to come! I think it’s my best price/hours game I own
I can’t wait to spend another hundred hours! 😂
Factorio is way different from terraria and don’t starve. They’re not even the same genere. Also if you think it’s expensive, (not flaming, genuinely asking) is your computer good enough to run cyberpunk at a reasonable graphic settings and fps? Because that games requires alot
They also don’t have trains, I love trains!
I don’t have 24 free hours, but damn if iam going to try to spend them all on Factorio anyway!
