I think some downstream projects will choose to not implement it. Vivaldi and Brave browser committed to not implementing it when it drops, so those two will likely be fine, at least for now

It probably is using Synapse, the Beeper github links directly to the matrix ansible script which uses Synapse by default unless you change it
Yeah I imagine Microsoft will push for less bugs, which seems to be the case, but that game engine is so jank. Unless they made giant upgrades to it, I expect it to still have many of the same old limitations
Yeah I’m shocked at how quick people forgot Fallout 76, and the plethora of other broken Bethesda releases.
Don’t get me wrong I’d love for it to be good, but I’ve just been burned too many times to trust it at launch haha
Outward is really good for this. You aren’t the chosen one, you aren’t special, you’re just a person trying to get by and the game really makes sure you know it haha
As someone else mentioned, Terra Nil is exactly this, another good one is Eco. You do chop down trees and mine and stuff but the goal is to be environmentally sustainable. The goal is to stop a meteor from blowing up your planet but you need to sustainably get there otherwise you’ll end up polluting the planet and making stuff worse in the process. Underrated but really good
Yeah I was looking at a few options. A few people recommended Audiobookshelf. I tried out airsonic-advanced and it has decent podcast support but the software itself feels a bit outdated, but it works
Yeah :( I’d probably go the selfhosted route if I can find a good bit of software to use for it, or just use RSS if that happens
Man I’m glad I got grandfathered in to their lifetime license, that’s really expensive
On top of that you won’t see ads or have your feed messed up by an algorithm, I’m excited to see how it develops
If Revolt had federation I’d be more willing to root for it but the devs have made it clear they have no plans to do so :(
Regardless it’s a cool piece of software and more competition is a good thing. It’ll be cool to see how it matures
Check out Anytype it’s pretty much just an open source Notion, I like it a lot
