  • I agree with everything. Though we shouldn’t forget that Lemmy also allows for that sort of mindless scrolling and it needs afford to not get trapped in that. It’s far from perfect but it’s still better than nothing, because as you said, we gain so much from all the interactions, discussions and topics to engage in. Personally I believe we also always grow to become a better person via engaging instead of only consuming or ignoring. Of course you can still build your own bubble, but that’s with everything.

  • Maybe the option should be removed, because technically you could create your own private Lemmy instance and mirror everything but disable deletion. Now you have all the information available people deleted. You could go even further and create a browser plugin so everyone else could see all deleted posts. You could do the same and create a plugin, to display usernames of everyone who voted on a post, as that information is publicly available. It’s just hidden. So there’s still a lot of work on Lemmy required to streamline this or it might get never solved.

On another note you could create an instance that only displays deleted content. Now I wonder what that looks like. Scary.

  • Start small and do one thing right and stick to it. Look at a YouTube video explaining you how to do that one exercise correctly. If you feel pain, you do it wrong.

That’s it, that’s the whole magic.

Start with something light, like 5 pushups, every other day and keep doing so. Soon you wan to do 5 pushups and 5 deadlifts and 5 crunches. Then you start to quadruple the amount and at some point your workout becomes too long, so you split it up. That’s it, you’re in.

All these fitness apps are total overkill. You start the workout and then boom “do these 20 things in 40 reps”. Nah, that’s how people get frustrated and stop.

Also sore muscles will go away at some point. I only ever get sore muscles when I work out something new or had a long break.

  • I do. Just fixed an iPod Nano 6G via soldering in a new battery. I love to not have to carry my phone when doing sport and not have to buy an expensive smartwatch, just to be able to listen to music. Also the battery lasts 2 days worth listening to music. You don’t have that with Bluetooth earbuds. The new battery will last year’s, while wireless earbuds stop working after 1 or two years. It has aux which is just unreplaceable in my eyes.

I hate how we have downgraded to large phones…

  • For breakfast if you drink milk and eat nothing acidic (like fruits) that would weaken the enamel, brushing after the meal is the best.

Also brushing your teeth does slightly damage your teeth, which salvia will repair. I don’t want sugar in my slightly damaged teeth, nor do I want sugar on them for the rest of the day, until I brush in the evening. I like to extend the duration of brushed teeth to the maximum. Meaning over night clean and after breakfast, til often evening when I eat once more. With midday being all clean without extra brushing.
