Have you ever tried out the game ECO?
Have you ever tried out the game ECO?
Huh til, thanks for the heads up!
I have always used clonezilla to just make a complete system image if that’s what you are looking for. The downside being its not gonna be a tool you just run from the command line, you need to install it to some bootable media and select each drive to backup. But if a full system image backup is your goal, I’d say give clonezilla a go.
Ok but if Google is not willing to support this effort, like I asked what’s your solution besides just letting it happen? Because that’s not gonna spark confidence for mass adoption to move away from these bloated ad and tracker filled mainstream apps. You need to have steps for progress and this allows more control when those who are publishing said knock off applications in their store will not.
So how else would you combat malicious forks like what happened to new pipe? Honest question, I like this standard even if there are always more truly open source licenses, if this could become a standard that helps prevent bad actors from taking advantage of less savy users that’s a big win to me and a move in the right direction all while being able to see the source code download it modify if i deem fit and install it. Perfect is the enemy of progress. What’s your solution?
Seems pretty natural for me considering one of the points of open source software is to try and get away from trackers malware and bloated ad experiences so you can see directly what you are running, making sure your product is not able to be abused in that way promotes more open source initiatives while allowing the owners to make sure any changes jive with the original intent of their open source software. You are free to modify all you like so long as you don’t distribute a forked version with ads, malware or trackers. They cover this very clearly.
I wonder what the market would be for such a solution. Make a custom raspberry pi like small server that has a self hosted website with a decent UI to setup most solutions like email, nas, pihole, and maybe a media server. Sell the easy setup to those who can’t be bothered, while still being open source and promoting Foss alternatives. I’m sure you could even sell different server tiers for power users as well who don’t want to be bothered with it. Then you could always sell a security service in a sense that will have people at the organization maintaining and updating the packages on the server os for that identified hardware. Then anyone who is inclined could set this up on their own so long as they have the skills to maintain their security, otherwise for basically the same cost as most subscriptions you could be able to self host email, Nas, media and an ad blocker network wide. As long as the ui experience setting this up is just as polished as simple as setting up a Gmail account I feel like this could do pretty well.
The science behind minimizing a sonic boom is not just applicable to commercial planes, ffs stop trying to kill science and research fucking idoits.
Well you still need to figure out the sonic boom too, ffs you anti science people are fucking morons.
Holy shit you are dumb
Ffs it’s nasa not blue origin. Do we really have to fight anti nasa shills now ffs, it really is like Nixon all over again after Trump ffs.
We can tell it’s already effecting you by trying to suggest nasa is a waste, when we spend 100 times it’s budget on wasted military contracts or the fact we do have a tax bracket that allows someone to even become a billionaire instead of taking back excessive wealth stolen from workers in predatory labor markets. There are other areas we should be getting this money for the public and it sure as hell shouldn’t be from aeronautic or space research ffs.
How about bitch about the actual wasteful military spending instead of scientific research into physics and understanding the dynamics of sonic booms. Nasa has like .1% of the military budget ffs.
Great it’s cool research though and should continue, if you want to bitch about wasted taxes go comment on military threads and comment there where billions are wasted on shit contracts that never materialize due to incompetent base mangers who can’t distinguish vapor ware proposals from real tech. Don’t bitch about scientific research that’s just fucking dumb.
Gpt 4 is more convincing without any less hallucinations, it’s not better its worse due to that fact.
Maybe before they just decided they could make it bigger without much refinement and now have a completely shit system that’s just a glorified chat bot with a high ego to assert its false knowledge.
If you have seen the crunch before demos for military projects you might start to think the other way. I doubt the bigger vendors will change much but you definetly could see contracts being won for shit that will just be ai generated because they got some base manager to eat up their proposal filled with buzz words. I’d be more worried about it, causing more contract bloat and wasted resources in critical systems going to these vapor ware solutions. Then you take general government contracts which go to the lowest bidder and you are gonna see a ton of AI bullshit start cropping up and bloating our systems because some high-school kid got chatgpt to make a basic website and no thinks he is the AI website God. Plus I work in the financial sector now and they have been eating up all the AI buzzwords like fucking hot cakes, the devs all know it will be a shit show but the ego from the executives thinking it’s a great idea won’t hear any of it, because think of the efficiency and bonuses they could get if they cut the implementation timeline down to a quarter. Not realizing the vulnerability, maintainence cost, and lack of understanding from the llm that will cause massive long-term issues regardless if they can get a buggy alpha created.
You also had them redefining what a recession is so they can say the US is not in one. For the longest time it was defined as 2 consecutive quarters without gdp growth. Now that’s only the case sometimes according to them, at least i think the article still states that its a new US opinion but the edit war on that one was insane. We need more accountability for this for sure.
Well, that’s sad to hear. I remember playing it in the beginning, and most of the servers I joined at least tried to protect the environment. I guess times have changed, it’s been a few years since I actively played it.
