I’m just your average Canadian wolf. I’m a siren enthusiast and railfan as my main hobbies. I run the Civil Defense Sirens Wiki, and am working on restoring a few vintage sirens (such as a FS&S Model L and a rare Sterling Siren MOD. F) as well as a 1970s Safetran mechanical crossing bell.

“Video Computer System” definitely doesn’t sound as appealing lol
Even in the 70s and 80s they were coming up with cooler names for consoles, like the Magnavox Odyssey and the Intellivision. Atari named a bunch of their consoles after big cats, though they didn’t live up to their names. At least there was some imagination.

“Are you guys still serving breakfast?”
It ended 5 hours ago! It’s 3 in the afternoon and breakfast hours are clearly posted on the sign. What do you think??

I found the maps to just be too big. Doing many of the story and side missions are an absolute chore (the Bosun’s ship in particular was a low point in this respect) because of how much running you have to do. At least in 2 the maps were filled with things to do and had varied environments that kept things from feeling same-y. I’ve beaten 2 many times, but never felt the urge to replay TPS. The game just feels like a slog.
Torgue weapons also can’t get critical hits, which really lowers their potential damage output. I never use Torgue unless it’s something like the Unkempt Harold. Especially frustrating are weapons with Torgue barrels that shoot these terrible grenades or rockets that (again) can’t crit. What good is a Jakobs rifle with a Torgue barrel over literally any other barrel?
My workplace still uses VGA monitors. They just don’t die.
I’ve been playing a ROM hack of Pokemon Emerald called Pokemon Emerald Rogue, and it’s been a blast. Every run is a new opportunity to use Pokemon you’d normally never use, and every fainted Pokemon hurts as once their health is depleted, they’re gone for good (mostly). Items and Pokemon are reset every time you lose, but you also get money to buy items to bring into new runs and also the opportunity to catch a new “starter” Pokemon. It entirely changes the way you play the game and there’s a ton of choices on how to progress. A new version is currently in the works which’ll make it even better. The trainers are also no pushovers and have well-built competitve teams unlike the main series, so it’s not a total snoozefest. Highly recommend.
And Photonicinduction! He uploads rarely but every video is great.
There’s a power utilities building disguised as a house just down the street from me. You’d never know it wasn’t just a house besides the industrial equipment behind it, the lack of a car in the driveway and the warnings plastered on the front door.
Over where I am it’s closer to 3 dollars for the cheapest burritoes. Stuff like the 5-layer and grilled cheese burrito are 7 bucks!
And they’re obnoxiously expensive for what you get. You could get far better food for the prices Taco Bell demands nowadays.
Wendy’s ruined the bacon too. It’s the same garbage you’d get at Burger King, and it’s significantly smaller and tastes worse than the bacon they were using a year or so ago.
Thanks to COVID, we didn’t get to have a prom. I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.
Relish or mayo. Ketchup is too sweet and artificial-tasting, mustards are hit or miss for me.
I have an e-scooter that gets me everywhere I need in town, and can use a taxi or get a ride from friends/family if there’s a situation where the scooter won’t work. Cars are expensive to insure, run and keep fueled, and money is tight enough as is.
As does SkipTheDishes. Want to be notified that your food is almost here? Fuck you, be bombarded with promotions and deals you didn’t ask for.
Let’s just say David Eddings (the VA) and Randy Pitchford are not on good terms…
