Came here to say this. I’ve worked on systems for a restaurant on the beach and it was corroded as hell. We had the wireless access points in cheap “weatherproof” boxes and they got corroded. We replaced them once a year or so because it was so bad.

That’s a good view. You’d be surprised who is down for a hug, though.
My friend group usually goes for the handshake hug. This led to things like when someone is having a hard time we hug it out.
We also compliment each other a lot. It’s nice. Some of these guys didn’t get compliments until our group started doing it to each other. You can watch someone who doesn’t get a lot of compliments change their body language from closed off to confident just by letting them know you like their shirt or that their haircut looks great.
Start easy with the handshake back pat. Easing into it can overcome some of the awkwardness that causes people to shy away from physical contact. Not everyone will be down for it, and you’re right that consent is key. Maybe it won’t work, but you’re not out anything by giving it a shot.
You’ve asked the wrong guy. All I know is it’s Kevin Costner.
Dances With Aliens was a masterpiece, dammit!!!
Seriously, it was fine I guess. Agreed that it looked fucking amazing in theaters.
That’s similar to me! Fix motorcycles, build guitars, travel, read, volunteer more, build electronics (specifically guitar pedals), and play music. I’ll actually probably drink less because I won’t be trying to cram as much as possible in my limited free time.
I prefer the little fake Nerf guns but same principle. You can get several and several darts for $15 and then you can do it in the house.
His name is Dennis. Once you really get to know him you’ll understand.
It’s definitely difficult over text unless you know someone.
No one could have seen this coming. Obviously LLMs absolutely completely understand the difference between people joking around with each other and authentic advice.
Sarcasm aside, Reddit does have some good information about niche topics. There’s just currently no way for AI to understand the difference between dry humor and serious responses. I think the AI summaries are unhelpful anyway, but even if I didn’t it’s pretty obvious Google didn’t think further than “Shove AI into it like a drunken prom night encounter”.
Why are these corporate schmucks unable to take any blame?
Because they never have to.
The issue is that there are a lot of bad actors “just asking questions”. You’re not one. A lot of folks have a hard time assuming good intentions because of all the shit people pushing bad agendas by feigning ignorance.
I try to assume the best, but I don’t always make it.
If you add enough mayo to anything it magically becomes a salad in the Midwestern US.
I did the same around 2005-6. I had plenty and never did it again.
It’s rough as hell, friend. I’m glad you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. With a little hard work and a lot of luck I was able to buy a house a few years after I went through the homelessness thing. I hope the same for you.
Oh hell yes it is. I didn’t stay too long (I’m notorious for leaving anything I’m unhappy with) but it was only good for like the first couple of weeks. I honestly should have known better but I was 18.
And for all the folks saying that getting married is the best thing to happen to them, I only have one thing to say: good! I’m glad it’s working for you and your spouse!
Getting a divorce. My life has been better since then, even when I lived in my car.
I’m actually pretty happy with MY life, but I’m terribly sad about my education and the way the state treats its most vulnerable.
I didn’t have a good extended family, but my immediate family are all pretty great, if undereducated, people. When I left for several years to see the world I learned a whole lot. I came back with skills that get me paid.
I really never got the help I needed here, but I got really lucky in a lot of ways that made it good for me. However, I certainly understand it’s not a good place for everyone and I’m voting and volunteering to try to help change that.
Allred has a chance of beating our loudest idiot senator if things go just right. Tell any friends you have out this way that they can make a difference.
I really thought Allscripts was going to get their shit together a bit over a decade ago. We kept hearing from their reps that they were working on a much better UI.
It is still hot garbage.
Hell, poorer clinics use old versions of EMR/EHR software that they bought in '08 and host locally. Some of that shit barely supports Windows 7. Some of that software doesn’t support things like HL7 properly so getting the data out and into a newer one can be cost prohibitive in and of itself because you’ve got to pay someone to write a translator for a shitty database in a format that was purposefully confusing to keep vendor lock in for a vendor that went tits up a year later.
I mentioned before that I have a lot of certificates for a lot of those companies that no longer exist. If it wasn’t soul crushing I could probably make a decent living just moving people from those systems. But my soul is already a shriveled piece of garbage and I don’t want to purposely squeeze the last little bit of juice out just yet.
Same. It’s actually the reason I chose Android over IOS way way back in the day.
