The bad cheese is orange, the good cheese is yellow or white. More seriously, the orange cheese melts at lower temperatures and doesn’t separate after melting. It can be good for grilled sandwiches and I’m told you can add small amounts to cheese sauces to prevent them from separating when stored in the fridge without impacting the flavor.

The ‘printer of fire’ error used to be a legitimate and important concern. Ye olde printers really could light their paper on fire under certain circumstances and they would typically be huge devices in dedicated rooms rather than something right next to your system. Letting people know to check on it when specific things went wrong probably saved a few buildings from burning down with people in them.

Not really an English thing so much as a math thing that makes too much sense to not use elsewhere. For instance, in math you might have x[3 - 7{3y + (a * b)}]. I haven’t actually seen them go deeper than three sets, though, so I’m not sure what would be next.

Those directions make sense to me. If I view a playlist on my phone or PC, it runs top to bottom and skipping a track goes down the list.

If they’re on a wheel with volume then volume should absolutely be up/down and next/back be right/left, though.

It took me years to figure out, but the directions are actually absurdly precise once you understand how they were written. For instance, if they say to follow the road north out of Caldera until you get to a tree, then turn west and continue until you reach your destination, that tree will be literally encroaching onto the road rather than one of the couple dozen that you pass that are near the road. At that point, you use the minimap to orient yourself exactly dead west and proceed in a perfectly straight line, hopping over rocks if need be, and you’ll arrive at the destination, just like the directions said.

This is incredibly unintuitive, though, since absolutely nobody writes directions like that IRL. Not to mention the typos and sporadic instances of east and west being reversed.

There has to be a better option than a floating quest marker or written directions, but I’m not sure what. Maybe the breadcrumb trail from Fable?

You should really wait for the Complete Edition and then grab the Unofficial Patch for every Bethesda game. They’re all varying degrees of broken on release and expansions may improve it or make it worse, or sometimes both at the same time. Best to wait.

Witcher 3 actually assumes you’ve read the books, too, so just playing 1 and 2 wouldn’t necessarily have informed you of what was going on.

Hearing aids aren’t really comparable. You still hear fine, but volume needs to be at a higher intensit. Hearing aids solve the problem with simple amplification. Corrective lenses for myopia and hyperopia are similar, correcting errors in something that’s essentially just calibrated wrong.

Color blindness is more like being deaf. Don’t think of your eyes as being one input generating a single image, but each eye being four inputs generating four images that are then composited. With color blindness, at least one of those pre-composite images is just not being generated at all. Like how a genuinely deaf person can’t benefit from hearing aids because they don’t have funcional ears, a colir blind person can’t get new colors from simple lenses because they don’t have cones capable of detecting those colors.

You can play music really loud for someone who’s hearing is degrading and they’ll hear it fine if it’s loud enough, but you can’t get someone who is red-green color blind to see green by ramping up the intensity of the green; they can’t see that color for much the same reason I can’t see ultraviolet or infrared.

That never made any sense to me. If the problem is with the cones in your eyes, then filtering the light going into them isn’t going to magically do anything. At best, you might be able to do stuff with contrast to make colors more distinct, but someone that’s red-green color blind could only have that actually fixed with new eyes.
