I will also counter and say I have played well over a thousand hours between trackmania and rocket league at fairly high levels since 2020 when I got the controller and it is still doing great. Those games beat controllers up
Dang looks like solaar is only for Logitech. :(
I’m not very smart to begin with but this whole comment hurt my brain to read.
There’s a great gnome extension called Fullscreen Avoider that moves the top bar to the other screen when your primary is full screen. It’ll give you the clock and the rest of your menus too.
Games seem to be the thing that holds people back. I think it definitely depends on what games you play as my experience has been pretty smooth. A little tinkering … but it’s a new OS so that’s expected. Check out protondb.com to keep an eye on games you play to see what their playability is like.
Having said that … it’s been about 3 weeks and I only needed to boot into Windows for a few hours when Ubisoft Connect got an update and broke proton compatibility. Blizzard is now bringing lots of games to Steam which will also help a ton.
I’m stoked for this! Fairly new to Linux and tried out a few distros and pop_os has been my favorite so far. Gnome is intuitive to me, but I do like customizing a bit more so this kind of sounds like the best of both worlds.
Didn’t realize they also did consumer computers and for having house made parts and being all open source, it is very affordable. Cool stuff!
I’m guessing you were a young adult or older teenager during the scene days.
Okay that’s hilarious though.

Want to elaborate on your answer instead of being snarky? It was a genuine question if your user experience changed or if it was a behind the scene thing you don’t agree with? It’s probably obvious I just use the app and don’t look into everything behind the scenes on it.
Reddit isn’t the only one hosting such folks who think they’re superior to others.
I love your name. And also yeah I just got Niagara yesterday after being on Nova premium for like 9 years. Really digging it so far and I think they’re gonna trick me into buying premium probably. They offer a free week trial so I’ll get used to it, then do the premium and see if it makes it that much better.
Do you have premium and would you recommend it?
Has your Nova changed or do you just not like a big company came and bought it?
