There are certain types of rubber/plastic that do this when they degrade, as others have mentioned. I had a small HDD with a rubberized coating on it and rubbing alcohol started to speed it’s degradation and it was a horrific mess. I also had a rubber mallet from a discount tool store that started to stink so bad, and it too was sticky and degrading. And (oh, you thought I was done…) I had some small Rubbermaid totes that I purchased at Walmart over 15 years ago that started to feel greasy and sticky when I touched them. I washed all of them multiple times until I realized the plastic was not cured and was breaking down. At least those did not stink. They only lasted 1 year before that happened.

I had updates today that were security related about this.

LOL. KDE is not slow at all. I am literally using it on a prehistoric computer and it’s never slow at anything.

My point is, at a specified age, you are considered an Adult. If you are old enough to die in a war and vote for candidates, you are old enough to drink, own a gun and whatever else. I personally think that 19 or 20 would be a better age for adulthood.

One age to do everything. 18 is ‘Adult’, that means no age restriction beyond that. At least until you get to retirement age.

Not worried necessarily. But as a suggestion, you could use different email addresses for different purposes. I use 1 address each for;

1. Family
2. Friends
3. Banking & Financial Services
4. Shopping
5. Lists I’m subscribed to (not related to the above)
6. Forums
7. Social Media
8. Junk And I use an email client to stay up to date with those accounts. That way when your Shopping email claims your bank has been hacked, you immediately know it’s a scam because they are not connected.

Some people are just looking for something to complain about because they are unhappy people anyway. That has nothing to do with you. Some people are complete idiots, go read some Amazon reviews. My favorite is about a Rice Paddle (plastic) that you only use with an electric rice maker. One reviewer said it was crap because it melted. Clearly they used it with a regular pan and had no idea what they bought. If you like yourself and the people you care about and respect like you, no one else really matters. It’s nice to be liked, but respecting and caring for yourself is the most important thing to remember. And sometimes (too many times actually), having some people like you can be a liability. Some people are just horrible and will latch on to you and spread their toxicity. It can be a real gift to not be liked by these people. Not being liked is not always a bad thing. The Sun shines on both sides of the planet!

Your welcome. I used to use grc.com when I was a windows user, but Kubuntu is my home now. Love Steve, very talented. I’m not a VPS person so I have no experience with their offering. It’s always good to look at options even if you are not planning to transition to another product. You never know when it will all break. And it’s nice to see what the marketplace is offering. Tech changes so fast anyway.

I never use webmail so I can’t answer. There is a spam filter but I have not had to use it since it changed. It’s located in the cPanel, not email. I never get spam, ever. I believe that SPF and DKIM are there in cPanel, you can search that in the knowledgebase where the FAQ is. Pretty sure the the cal/webDAV are there, I don’t ever use those. I personally prefer POP3 because IMAP always polls your devices if the client is open and that can drain resources and batteries. Plus I only have certain email address on certain devices. That’s just me. I have never had problems using Namecheap for email. It’s been 11 years of excellent service. Also their customer service is speedy and smart. They have a pretty good reputation. I had Hostgator for a few years before they were bought by EIG which is a shady craphole. Also stay away from GoDaddy. I have over time looked into other web hosts, but nothing compared to what I was getting for the price or my needs. I also set up a family member because their ISP had such garbage email service. I find that paying for my email and using my own domains are much better because I don’t have to be subjected to ads or data harvesting. Plus I get whatever email address I want.

I love these people, I watch every video even if I hate the subject of it because sometimes it goes off the rails with humor.
