That is how federation works. You’re probably the first one to have followed that community. Though if you did subscribe to the community, the first 20 posts should be fetched. What do you mean by “comment mode” btw?

I’d say prefer single quotes for passwords as your password might have some special characters. Single quotes are raw strings, so nothing is escaped.
