So frustrating how the series went. Dawn of war with all the expansions and factions installed was fantastic. And the dark crusade campaign with the total war style world battle map, perfect!
I really wish they just made an up to date dow1. Maybe don’t encourage monetizing individual chapters, I like that you could paint your own. I was happy to pay for a whole new race and a new campaign in a DLC package but paying for cosmetics can fuck off.
First time I’ve seen a post from that side of the verse. This seems pointless and harder to read than standard Lemmy 😅 I’m assuming the mastadon UI makes it make more sense.

I played it with a 3080ti at launch and it was a buggy mess, shallow as hell, it skipped over all character introductions at the start of the story with a cutscene which just made me not care about anyone talking to me, the gunplay was simplistic, the open world was the least immersive I’d ever seen, with disappearing npcs and teleporting cops and cars driving through barriers everywhere with seemingly nothing reacting to your presence in ways that other open world games had been doing for years. The performance was bad, and even on psycho RTX there weren’t any real reflection because they didn’t bother finishing the third person character model, so there were just grey panes in bathrooms.
Overall it was just super underwhelming and full of unfinished areas that were clearly meant to be in the game but got cut.
It wasn’t an issue with consoles, it was an issue with the game being bad. Seems like everyone’s whitewashing the release as if it was perfect on pc.
Of course the bug fix has bugs. What a shit storm from the start

But that’s only auto after a manual button press, that’s half the auto! In lastpass when I visited a page, it would just fill it in and log in for me without any input.
Sometimes bit warden doesn’t even realise it has a password for the site because it’s looking for a specific URL rather than a wildcard match to the domain.
I used 3dsmax until I started uni and was forced to use Maya. Then trying to learn zbrush and mudbox. And then marmoset, and then early 2000s blender, it was too much for my poor brain to wrap around so many different UIs with so many different workflows.
Then my uni lied to me about how much I’d learn, then about overseas exchange, and then about getting a work placement (they just gave me an email address for a modeller who didn’t respond) and left me with no useful skills so I gave up completely.
I have so much wasted useless 15 year old 3d knowledge in my brain.
It is great and I do use it, and it was super easy to export from lastpass
BUT the autofill is so unreliable in comparison, it’s annoying

I run Google ads for small businesses and what blows my mind is how much money TEMU has. They throw money at advertising like it’s unlimited. Every client in the e-commerce space is being outbid by TEMU at every search, and they’re overlapping/appearing above them in 80-90% of all searches.
They even appear above amazon most of the time. It’s insane how much they’re spending.
We used to just have to put up with Amazon because they’re huge and we can’t compete, but now competing against two giant budgets is frustrating.
If that’s why Google is paying them, to keep them alive, then they’re effectively a puppet
They pay Mozilla between 83-86% of their yearly revenue to be the default search engine.
That’s where basically all Mozilla’s funding comes from.
If Google decides they want their competition gone, they just turn off the money pipe. They are at their mercy.

In the UK I was given the option of German or French, but I wasn’t taught very well, and could barely speak a few basic sentences after 5 years of schooling. If this is a common experience, as I believe it is, it results in a populace who speaks english only. (Obviously an issue exacerbated by the commonality of English on the internet and popular media)
It blows my mind how inefficient my school must have been. Right now, I can’t imagine learning something for 5 years and retaining nothing.
AoE 4 form relic was so close to 2 that it felt like a 3d remake , and plays wonderfully.
