Anything is better than nothing. This is true. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t wasting your time on something that does the bare minimum.

Duolingo keeps doing mass layoffs, so the bird is overworked. You can help him out by switching to a language learning app that actually helps you learn a language instead of endlessly throwing flash cards at you without teaching you anything! Win win.
It’s a shame to see someone taking the side of big business over a small independent. Google has an effective monopoly on search, they take the content of sites and present it as their own, they also rarely do a good job of fighting SEO to show you things you actually want to see, this is likely a result of SEO winning rather than these guys.
You’re celebrating the big guy and telling the little guy to just live with it. Whoes going to make content when they are all gone.
People who have large collections of physical games, especially things like tg16, often have money to spend on this kind of thing.
It let’s them play their original games and gives a nice enough interface around it
This thread is a good example of just how circlejerky and bubble like lemmy has become.
You are correct. Outside of the hard-core users and tech nerds, Ubuntu is massively popular. But you listen to this community, and you’d think the opposite.
This is a good example of how most of the performance improvements during a rewrite into a new language come from the learnings and new codebase, over the languages strengths.
Lol, no, it isn’t. Anyone can set up an apt repository and ask you to use it. Many providers do… You might mean the walled garden of an official singular apt repository is safe.
🤷♀️ the snap works absolutely fine with no issues, the flatpak doesn’t exist and the apt is two years out of date.
I’m not on the outrage boat myself tho
I sometimes use a snap
If anyone’s interested in the show, there’s three made-for-tv movies and a series.
The first two tv-movies are so bad it’s good entertaining. Everything else is awful. Shatner is barely in the show, but when he is, it’s much better.
Civvie11 on YouTube did a good video about the game as well
are you sure that the pro 2 has a 4-way connection?
i read it as just a simple way of changing what mode the controller runs in, normally you have to select those different modes by holding down button combinations when enabling pairing mode. to me it looks like they just made those button combinations a switch. so it’s a switch, and only pairs to a single device.
i might be wrong, i don’t have one
Irc was never searchable, but that was never an issue before.
Retrotink 5x immediately solved all my issues without additional setup or tinkering. Heavily recommend it. Ossc is cool and I love the open side of it. But retrotink 5x just plain works, and if you want a tinkering scaler the retrotink 4k does that thr best.
The article poising this as an analogue competitor seems naive.
It doesn’t have any of the things people buy an analogue pocket for. If you want to say, “This is an analogue pocket but cheaper and without any of the features,” sure. But so is a regular gameboy with an lcd mod.
Which is really what this competes with. It competes with mods of original gameboys.
takedowns are automated these days, either through full automation or paying low cost labor in places like India to just do google searches. Rockstar isn’t “doing” anything here, aside from paying someone else to issue the takedowns. and the someone else doesn’t know enough or care enough to apply logic that would cause all the other versions to get taken down too.
This “no mans land” you speak of is probably 99.999% of home assistant users. Managing docker is not something that most people want to do or know about.
I think the people in this thread talking about cities’ skylines are offbase. Cities skylines filled a vacuum, and simcity was already dead. Arguably, it was already dead before the reboot as their hadn’t been a new entry in a decade.
Whilst this is nice. I’ve had a color ebook reader for maybe four years. It’s not a new technology.
