  • It isn’t any of their business unless you want it to be so just be vague as hell. “I got another offer that is a good opportunity.” “I’ve decided to pursue other opportunities.” They’ll obviously ask questions and you can just remain vague. “I would rather not discuss specific details of my new job.”

Or if you don’t mind them speculating behind your back you can say as something like “I’ve decided to move on for personal reasons.” Just leave it at that and let them sit there and wonder. Is a family member sick and needs care? Are you sick? Did you get a different job? Do you hate everyone? Are you going to prison? Who knows because you aren’t telling them.

  • This Podcast Will Kill You - this podcast is only disturbing if you find medical issues disturbing. Each episode discusses a disease, medical issue or some kind of medical history. I think it’s really interesting.

Hidden Brain - goes into a bunch of different topics about how we see and interpret the world. Very well done.

You’re Wrong About - talks about popular misconceptions and such.

Science VS - Talks about science stuff in a fun and entertaining way.

People already mentioned Behind the Bastards and I really like that one but it can be hit or miss. Don’t start with the newest episode, instead look for one that sounds like an interesting tooic to you and start there. When it’s good it’s very good.

History of the World in Spy Objects - ok I actually just found this one and haven’t had a chance to listen to an episode yet but it looks good and sounds like it might be interesting to you.

Lore - it’s very well done about dark historical takes

  • Yeah disability is intentionally designed to be awful. You can only have it of you’re dirt poor and it pays so little that you will always be dirt poor. God help you if you live in a place where it’s hard to get separate housing assistance, that has poor EBT benefits, a state that fucked over medicaid, etc. God help you if a family member tried to assist you in some way and now you have ever so slightly too much money. It’s a really messed up system considering how hard it is to get ln disability, meaning that the vast majority of people who have it aren’t scamming the system as some people might like us to believe.

  • Apparently antiperspirant is not that good for you so I did quit using it for a year or so after the pandemic so I was at home anyways. I would use more natural deodorant without aluminum or anything bad but maaaaaaaaaan my pits stunk and washing with soap didn’t even eliminate it. After I started using it again because I couldn’t even stand my own BO it disappeared immediately. I don’t always shower every day and don’t put it on except after showering and drying off and the smell after 2 days without a shower is much more pleasant than half an hour after showering during the time period I wasn’t using it. Why that is, idk. You wouldn’t think it would be that bad especially if I was showering. I would even try stuff like vinegar on my pits but it didn’t help.

  • I think they’re fine for people with health problems who need additional nutritional support but as a part of a healthy person’s diet they should play a limited role.

Obviously if you’re going to be doing something where you won’t have access to healthy food or the ability to cook then sure, take something with you. But if you have the ability to meal prep a healthy alternative and safely store it, strictly from a health perspective that will be better.

If you are going down the meal replacement route, limit both sugar and artificial sweeteners. These foods tend to be either high sugar or high in artificial sweeteners which, although approved for human consumption, may have some adverse health effects or unforseen effects on metabolism.

You also want to watch the sodium content because various forms of sodium that do not taste salty are used as preservatives. Anything with the word sodium will be some kind of salt and it can be sneaky when it’s a form of sodium that doesn’t taste salty like sodium chloride. Add up all the sodium on a label and sometimes it can be a little shocking.

Edit: personally I rarely eat meat so I use unflavored pea protein fairly regularly to ensure that I get enough protein so I just wanted to clarify that I’m not judging you by saying that this should play a limited role in your diet if possible.
