I honestly don’t know anymore as I can’t find it. Maybe it was just different in older Android versions, but now I akso just have FF set as my default browser and that’s it.

What did you do to your phone’s battery? I’ve got my phone for two and a half years and I still get decent runtime out of it.
And I agree… if the only innovations these days involve adding new cameras and removing other common features (like headphone jacks…) I don’t really see the point in upgrading.
That got me thinking: couldn’t that be solved by adding a layer in fron akin to a phosphor screen which “buffers” the light a bit thus bridging the switching which should reduce flickering?
With that title I was honestly expecting something more linux-specific, but the concepts described here pretty much apply to all modern OSs and their file handling.
Only if other countries follow, but with such a small market it’s easier to just abandon the UK.
