I want several of these.
I think it’s the same reason games offer a cash shop for things you can get in-game. Sure they’re making billions but why not billions plus ad revenue? I don’t agree with the practice but the answer always comes back to money.
I too was in middle school when Columbine happened. The next year we weren’t allowed to wear trench coats… In Phoenix…
Sam didn’t spring for the ad-free tier and now has to have his time wasted?
I hopped between distros for a long time. Before writing Linux off I suggest giving MX-Linux a shot. I’ve been loving it. It’s super solid. My only issue with it is that I can’t seem to get the right power settings set for closing my laptop but it’s probably something I’m doing wrong.
I like the cut of your jib, Tex.
How would you prepare for telecom? I’ve got a background in IT and have been trying to switch to Software Engineering by learning React and TypeScript. Would the skills compare at all?
I’ve never used an Android that felt like it was out of beta testing yet and they stopped making Windows phones and BlackBerrys (BlackBerries?). I only used my phone for texting and email and my significant other talked me into an expensive-ass iPhone 8 and I’ve just kinda kept going with them. I have an 8 and a 12 and I plan on using the 12 until it falls apart and then go back to the 8 until that one dies too. If e-ink phones aren’t a thing by that time I’ll get a dumb phone and separate device for Authenticator passcodes.
As for why - I don’t need the latest and greatest features on my phone. It may be an old way of thinking but I’d rather use a computer and dumb phone over a smart phone on its own.
I did the same recently and can’t recommend them more. They’re wonderful. I can’t imagine a world without one and I’m shocked that they didn’t become the staple in every household decades ago. Big TP really did a number on my country.
I went all out and sold my PS5, bought a guitar and have been teaching myself how to play. I feel awkward because I didn’t just move to Lenny but now I can play dope ass riffs.
FFXIV for sure is up there. Probably my most hours in a single game. The first several Monster Hunter games are so similar that I kinda want to count all their hours together. If I did that then the MH franchise MAY surpass XIV. Either one is a hell of an experience and I don’t regret any of it.
I think there’s a difference between being a shitty person and being unwilling to help and being repeatedly used because you’ve helped out a couple of times before and now people end up leveraging your kindness. I personally subscribe to the line of thinking in the comment you replied to after giving the person I’m working with the benefit of the doubt that it’s a justified emergency a couple of times. I have a list of people at work now that I’ll still assist but I don’t jump at the opportunity as quickly because everything is an emergency to them and I think that’s just as shitty as not helping someone.
Just to clarify, I phrase it a bit differently: Not “piss-poor planning” but rather “a lack of planning” since it sounds less aggressive.
Fire in the Sky. It’s about an alien abduction and the dude has PTSD and flashbacks throughout. Ruined maple syrup for me for a long time.
My parents are close to 65 and completely out of touch. If you turn 65 during your next term you should be ineligible.
